C1R-neo is a stable transfectant cell line established in 1987 by transfection by electroporation of the C1R cell line with a modified neomycin drug-resistant eukaryotic vector, pSP65-Neo.
C1R-neo does not secrete or express HLA B7.
B-LCL by gamma irradiation followed by selection for Class I monoclonal antibodies and complement.
C1R is a human B-cell lymphoblastoid line lacking surface HLA A and B antigens.
C1R was derived from Hmy.
C1R-neo may be used as a control for C1R-sB7 (CRL-2370), in CTL experiments and for producing control supernatants.

Complete Growth Medium The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Iscove's Modified Dulbecco's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2005. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing
Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density)
Cultures can be maintained by addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension in fresh medium at 5 X 10(5) viable cells/ml.
Maintain cultures at cell concentrations between 5 X 10(5) and 2 X 10(6) viable cells/ml.
